Symposium about the use of open data


Scientists are willing to enrich their research with more open data, but they still struggle with the proper way to work with it. A symposium on this subject takes place at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam on Monday October 19th 2015.

University Library study rooms open at the weekends prior to exams


The University Library study rooms and computer rooms in the B wing of the main building will be open until 10 pm on Saturday and Sunday on the two weekends prior to exam week.

NWO has changed the conditions for its Incentive Fund Open Access Publications.

Summer holidays 2015 – Library service desks opening hours


Reduced opening hours for the Library service desks from July 6 - 28 August. Due to construction work the Medical Library is closed from July 13 - August 14.

Data Center support has changed


On July 6th 2015 the Data Center helpdesk moved to 1B-21 in the B-wing of the VU main campus building.

Free Open Access publishing at Brill


The University Library recently started a pilot with Brill that allows VU researchers to publish their articles without Article Processing Charges (APC’s) in Open Access.
