Lex Bouter’s publications open access available via personal website

Lex Bouter, Dean of VU University:
“I think that research results created with public funding should be accessible for everybody. Now that my publications are available via my personal website, everybody can find them via Google and Google Scholar."

Through a joint initiative of VU University Library and Dean Lex Bouter, the complete list of his publications is now accessible on his personal website. Approximately 90% of these publications are open access available. Those which are not, can be accessed by scholars and scientists from the Dutch universities through links to publisher’s websites.

To make VU research more visible and findable, the University insists that researchers have their personal web pages containing publication lists with links to their open access publications. In 2011, the Board has therefore requested all departments to upload their full-text publications from Metis to VU-DARE. By linking Metis, DARE, and the personal websites, the publications appear automatically on the personal websites.

Various VU University scientists now have their publications on their personal web pages. Amongst them Frans Berkhout (IVM), Erik Verhoef (FEWEB), and Pim Cuijpers (FPP).
