Seminar ‘How to publish a world-class paper?

Publishing an article is quite a challenge. Determining your audience, choosing a journal, and dealing with reviewers and editors are important skills you need in your academic career. The University Library offers you support on how to prepare yourself and how to write a high-quality scientific manuscript by organizing a seminar on these topics. During the seminar, two experienced scientists and a publisher will share their insights and experience with the publishing process.

Workshop Finding & Merging Financial Data

Course on the level of Bachelor and Master students. Starts with a short introduction into the translation of a research question into data needs. Some difficulties are discussed when using 2 or more databases. Participants will work on an examples using the e-Resources Amadeus & Compustat. The merging data part includes both Excel & Stata.

Merging data using Excel and Stata

Often in research projects, it is necessary to use data from different sources. In this workshop, we discuss how you can combine different data sets into a single data set that you can use for analysis, both in Excel and Stata, and discuss common issues using hands-on examples using financial databases Compustat Global & Datastream.
