Merging data using Excel and Stata

Often in research projects, it is necessary to use data from different sources. How can you combine different data sets into a single data set that you can use for analysis? We show you how to do this both in Excel and Stata, and discuss common issues using hands-on examples using the financial databases Compustat, Datastream, SDC Platinum and Amadeus.
